Update: 03/16/2020
As the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation evolves, the safety of our participants and staff is of paramount concern to us. We’re working hard to do everything, above the industry standards, to be prepared and address any concerns. Our Programs are compliant with all American Red Cross Safety Standards and exceed the CDC recommendations for sanitation.

In addition to our enhanced sanitary procedures for all our classes we are doing the following:
• Increasing the rigor of cleaning and sanitizing procedures at our Training sites.
• Disinfecting common surfaces inside our classrooms for every class. This includes tables, knee pads, and doorknobs.
• Making hand sanitizer available at our training sites and disinfecting wipes for all mannikins in between uses.
• 1 to 1 Participant to Mannikin ratio. All Mannikins will be wiped down at the beginning of the course with an approved sanitizer. You will not be sharing Mannikins when ventilating with a pocket mask/CPR Breathing Barrier. We are also decontaminating mannikins in between use, so after practice, you will be wiping mannikins down to ensure the mannikins are consistently decontaminated. All equipment is also thoroughly decontaminated at the end of the course and will be left clean before storage.
• You will not be asked to put your mouth directly on a mannikin. We are providing single-use CPR Breathing barriers that you can use to provide breaths to the mannikin.
• Continuing the Aquatic Solutions tradition of BRAND NEW Pocket masks for each participant to KEEP for our Basic Life Support (BLS), CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and Lifeguarding classes as well as a vast supply of breathing barriers for our other classes. (We do not simply soak in a solution used masks and then re-use them)
• Using brand new gauze and other First aid training equipment and disposing of them after each participant use.
• Gloves are provided for ALL Courses. We will not allow you to practice skills unless you have gloves on your hands. This is to teach you proper Personal Protective Equipment usage, but also to keep you safe during the course.
• Handwashing breaks after all skills will be required.
• Classrooms will be limited to 50% of normal capacity to ensure that we are compliant with the State Guidance provided on capacity. This means classroom space will be more limited in order to give people enough distance between practice. Participants will also be spaced adequately (one meter apart) to ensure that they have sufficient distancing from other participants.
• Aquatics Courses (Update as of 3/16/2020) have been postponed. Due to the physical and tactile nature of the courses, we have decided to follow the same recommendations as gyms and shut down our Aquatic training for the next two weeks while we evaluate the situation. We tentatively resuming Aquatic Programming on 4/1/2020.
We consult with our own medical expert to ensure we implement best practices at all our sites. This includes requiring handwashing and healthy hygiene practices among our staff and encouraging the same of all customers.
Thanks, as always, for your continued loyalty and rest assured, as parents and Health and Safety advocates ourselves, we are looking out for you. We look forward to seeing you soon. Stay safe out there. We are all in this together!!
Best regards,
Aquatic Solutions
