*Prerequisites:
Minimum age: 15 years.
Swim front crawl or breaststroke for 300 yards continuously demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing.
Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs, placing hands under armpits.
Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds.
o Starting in the water, swim 20 yards.
o Surface dive to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object.
o Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point.
o Exit the water without using a ladder or steps.
Blended Learning Offerings-Blended Learning combines online learning with in-person skills sessions conducted by a Red Cross certified instructor. The new blended learning courses build the same knowledge and skills as our traditional classroom training courses. (Includes CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer as well as First Aid)

In order to complete the classroom session of the Blended Course, please complete the following Online portion and present the completion certificate to the instructor. The in-person session cannot be conducted without the Online portion, so please give yourself ample time to complete the Online portions before scheduling the in-person session. Participants who do not present a valid Online Completion Report will not be allowed to proceed in the course for certification purposes, but will be given the opportunity to audit the course for experience, however they will not be certified regardless of the success of the In-Person Skills session.
****Note: Online completion alone will not grant a certification for any of the courses without also completing the In-person session.

Things to bring each day to class:
■ Successful is entered for a participant who has successfully attended and participated in all class sessions, including activities and skill sessions, and demonstrated proficient competency in all required skills. Successful students will receive an American Red Cross Certification in the course taken.
■ Unsuccessful is entered for a participant who has not met course objectives and/or has not successfully attended and participated in all class sessions, including activities and skill sessions, demonstrated proficient competency in all required skills, or violated any Aquatic Solutions policies. Unsuccessful students will not receive an American Red Cross certification.
■ Not Evaluated is entered as the final grade for a participant who is not attending the course with the intention of receiving a completion certificate. This grade should not be substituted for Unsuccessful for a participant who attempts certification but is unable to pass the completion requirements. A participant who chooses to audit must make their intent known to the instructor at the beginning of the class. Not Evaluated students will not receive an American Red Cross certification.

From Sunrise Highway:
1) Make a right onto Liberty Avenue (1st light after the Home Depot)
2) A left onto Merrick Road.
3) A quick right into the parking lot.
From Merrick Road:
1) Take Merrick Road East into Freeport, (The entrance to the recreation center is about a quarter-mile east of the rear entrance to the Home Depot, on the RIGHT).
2) Make a right turn into the parking lot. (If you pass the entrance, make a right at the traffic light and look for the recreation center entrance on Atlantic Avenue).

- Pocket Face Mask Combo set (Adult and Pediatric)-Will be supplied to you if you are taking the full Lifeguarding class. Any additional masks or If you are taking a review class, please bring your own or you can purchase a brand new one for $15.00 onsite.
- Copy of the Lifeguarding manual (link is above) either on iPad, computer, or printed version.

- Goggles for practicing swimming. If wearing contacts, please note that you cannot wear goggles for the Brick retrieval section. I suggest bringing your contact case and extra contact solution.
