Lifeguarding (r24) Instructor Classes
Trains Lifeguarding instructor candidates to teach American Red Cross Lifeguarding, Lifeguarding Blended Learning, Shallow Water Lifeguarding, Aquatic Attraction Lifeguarding, Waterpark Skills, CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Bloodborne Pathogens Training.
Prerequisites: Minimum age: 17 years, Possess a current American Red Cross certificate in Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED, complete the Online Session for the Lifeguarding Instructor course and complete the precourse session.
Upon Successful completion candidates receive a certification from the American Red Cross as a Lifeguard Instructor valid for 2 years. Online material must be completed prior to attending the classroom activities. For more information, please reference the attachment you will receive via e-mail that will be sent 2 weeks prior to this course.

Lifeguard Instructor/IT Recertification Course R.24
This in-person Instructor review course is the required course for all Lifeguarding Instructors to re-certify. During this course, Lifeguarding Instructors and Instructor Trainers will participate in an in-water practice and polish skills session in addition to a classroom-based review of Red Cross administrative policies and procedures. Upon successful completion participants will recieve an American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor certification valid for 2 years.

NEW- Lifeguarding Instructor Candidate-OPTIONAL Skills "Polish" 5 Hour Session
​An invaluable session with us to prepare you for the Lifeguarding Instructor class. Know what to expect and be confidant in your skills. This 5 hour "Polish" session is designed to strengthen your current Lifeguarding r17 skills for the Lifeguarding Instructor class. The Lifeguard Instructor course is not designed to teach you the base level material which you should have learned in the base level Lifeguarding class you took so be advised that you are required to have a strong foundation in all the American Red Cross Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR/AED skills and this class can absolutely help you with that. It is all skills based and in water as well as on land and includes skills with manikins and other applicable rescue equipment used in the Lifeguarding r17 program as well as question and answer sessions that will build up your knowledge of the Lifeguarding r17 material. We cannot stress the value that this would add to your skills foundation.

Water Safety Instructor (TM) (WSI) Classes
This course will train instructor candidates to teach water safety, including the Basic Water Rescue course, six levels of the Learn to Swim program and parent and Child Aquatics.

CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers Instructor
​The purpose of the instructor course is to train instructor candidates to teach the American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers course.
The instructor course is delivered in a blended format. Instructor candidates must complete a portion of their training online, then complete a pre-course exam. The online portion provides an orientation to the American Red Cross and covers core information in the instructor’s manual.

First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor
The purpose of this class is to train instructor candidates to teach basic-level American Red Cross First Aid, CPR and AED courses. Once you register, a separate instruction and logistic document will be e-mailed to you. It is very important that students review and follow the directions on the attachment sent for this course. This is a Blended Learning course consisting of on-line content and classroom segments.

Lifeguarding Instructor (r24) Crossover/Re-Entry Bridge Course
Former American Red Cross lifeguarding instructors whose certifications expired no more than 2 years before the beginning of the Instructor Crossover/Re-Entry Bridge course and current lifeguarding instructors from other American Red Cross approved organizations are eligible to participate in the Lifeguarding Instructor Crossover/Re-Entry Bridge course.

Note: some classes may have prerequsites that are not listed however we will notify you at the time of registration of the specific prerequsites required for a particular class. All classes require full attendance for all scheduled days and hours associated with the class you are registering for.
Classes must meet minimum student enrollment amounts in order to run. While the likelihood of a class cancelling is remote, it does happen from time to time. In the event a class cancels due to low enrollment, weather or an unforeseen facility issue we will let the student know the day before the class and actively seek to place him/her into the next available scheduled class which works for the students schedule.
